Week 5 in the field already.. wow this transfer is already over almost! I am about 95% sure Ill be staying in Yerington since training is usually 2 transfers long. So 6 more weeks of training! Im glad though I love Yerington the people are so cool. Im looking forward to vegas though so I can have p-days with other missionaries to play some bball or football. Thatll be fun. Anyways...
Had a good week this last week, our investigators are continuing to progress very well. We have 2 dates set and within the next tranfer or two we should have 8 more baptisms. That is our goal with the investigators and part members that we currently have. So 10 upcoming more or less. Ken, which is our main focus as of right now, has been to church the last couple weeks. He is really solid. He loved the meetings these last two weeks and he was practically bearing testimony in gospel essentials yesterday. It was awesome. Gospel essentials has been really good for me too, the lessons have been on the millenium and whatnot, which I love studying. Good stuff.
The other day Ferguson and I were doing our studies in the morning as usual and all of a sudden we hear brother Allred yell "Lindaaaaa" (these are the members we are staying with) so we run out and there is a thick black haze down the hall and into the kitchen/family room and it smell like burnt plastic way bad. Turns out sister Allred (Linda) was boiling out the grease out of the pan they used for breakfast and she left the plastic spatula in there and went and laid down. The spatula was just a puddle by this point and it was smoldering. Brother Allred is such a goon hes so funny just to look at. We love him :).
Another funny story, we were tracting and this Mexican guy was riding his bike and I stopped him to talk to him. He could hardly understand english but we were offering him a book of mormon and we were like hey we have a spanish one in out car follow us. Hes like OK! So we turn around and start walking to our car. We look back and he just rode off. We were like uhh.. so we ran to our car and chased him down. We gave him the book :).
Well this past week has been really good! Apparently the last missionaries were kinda morons so we've been working really hard to build member trust here and we have done a really good job of it i think. The members didnt used to do much for us at the beginning but now they are working really hard and well with us. Its awesome.
Till next week..
