Well.. Christmas is here already. I could swear I was just at home with my family opening presents in 2008. I hope everyone is having a fantastic Christmas season. Its going to be 2010 before we know it. That is unreal.
So this last week was a really good one. We had transfers on Tuesday and we had Bro Bentley (Ward Mission Leader) take us to Fallon to drop off Fergie (Elder Ferguson) and pick up Elder Dunkley. Elder Dunkley is my new companion, he's from Ogden Utah and was last serving in Las Vegas. We have been doing really well so far, we get along great.
Tuesday evening we had dinner with Cindy and her family and that was about all we had time for after getting home and him unpacking and whatnot. The remainder of the week we have just been visiting a lot of the members and less actives. A couple of our lessons did fall through, but that was alright. We did still have some really good ones. None of our investigators are really progressing at this point, but we do have one with a date in mid January. So mostly this week was just visiting people and dropping a spiritual thought on the way out. All in all it was a good week.
The members here are great though, they make us family. Cindy in particular, I dont know if there will a member near as awesome as she has anywhere else.
She asked what some of our traditions were that we have with our families back home. I couldnt really remember any particular traditions per se, but I do remember whenever we were in Phoenix for christmas we would always decorate cookies with Lori. So guess what? Yesterday we got to make and decorate sugar cookies! I was pretty happy. We had a blast. I even made a custom cookie of the US Open symbol which was pretty sweet.
Well that was about it for this last week, pretty quiet as far as new updates with the work, but it was a really fun week. Next week I have a story I want to share but I only have 3 minutes left and thats definitely not enough time to type it out :(. Next week! Its a good one though.
I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy new year!!
