Hey all, hope you had a great Christmas! I cant believe it came and went already, i swear I was just sitting at home for Christmas last year.. Crazy.
Hope you all got what you wanted and had some good fun! I sure did.
The week prior to Christmas was pretty good, we didnt get a whole lot of teaching in, but it was alright. Well Monday and Tuesday didnt. Monday was p-day and we just hung out with the Cliftens as usual :). Theyre the best. I dont know if Ive mentioned it before but on Wednesdays and Saturdays we play Volleyball in the evenings with some members and inactives and a couple nonmembers. So thats really fun. One of the members (Kaylene Hunt) who is the young womens pres I think, comes. Shes good friends with Cindy. So one night we played with them (this was when Fergie was still my comp) and no one else was able to make it that night so it was Fergie and I and Cindy and Kaylene. So we played 2 on 2 and we were stomping em at the beginning and then ended up choking or something and they unfortunately won. Sad day.
Anyways, so Kaylene ended up going undefeated and I kinda somehow lost every game. Fergie doesnt really try so that stunk. So anyways, for Christmas I made her a shirt with iron ons on Cindy's comp. It says on the front in small letters on the top From the biggest winner (Elder Lowder) to the...
then I put the biggest loser tv show logo on it. With a little volleyball under it. Then on the back of the shirt it has her name on it. Its the coolest shirt ever. But yeah I did end up actually losing the whole time so its ironic. But I like to play it off like we killed em and it pushes her buttons. Its fun. But she loved the shirt, thought it was hillarious.
So Christmas was way fun, I got to call home and talk to the family which is always good. In the morning we went to the Bishops and they had a bunch of presents for us which was nice. Got battleship, break the ice, a Gordon B Hinkley book (Way to Be!), and a stocking full of stuff. Over all I think we got like 5 stockings full from different members. We are spoiled. The rest of the day we just played games with the Cliftens and ate a lot of junk food. It was a good day.
Also I just wanted to throw a shout out to everyone, thank you sooo much for all the packages and letters. I was really surprised, and really appreciated it. Thank you very much.
Parents if you could thank the ward, the Rigby's in particular for sending me the poster and letters and things. That was very nice.
Well overall it was a great week, not too hard being away from home on Christmas because I got tons of things from people to make it easier. Thanks again.
Love you all,
Elder Lowder
